BULLDOG CAREER:
2016 (Junior) Returned from a preseason injury on April 13 at Southwest Minnesota State and appeared in 21 games including nine starts ·went 6-for-10 with an RBI double and two runs scored in a doubleheader at Bemidji State on April 22 · drove in a run on a pinch-hit RBI double against Mary on May 2 · went 2-for-4 with an RBI double against Southwestern Oklahoma State in the NCAA Tournament on May 20 · NSIC All-Academic Team.
2015 (Sophomore) Split time in the outfield but played 34 games including 26 starts for the Bulldogs · opened the season with a 4-for-8 day in a twinbill against Northwood (Mich.) with a double and an RBI on Mar. 13 · went 4-for-6 with two runs batted in, a double, and a walk in a doubleheader against Sioux Falls on Mar. 20 · slugged a pair of doubles against Minnesota-Crookston on Apr. 15 as well as against Upper Iowa on Apr. 23 · selected to the NSIC All-Academic Team.
2014 (Freshman) Appeared in 36 games including 30 starts · belted a grand slam in his first collegiate start as part of a 3-for-5 doubleheader with five RBIs and two runs scored against Wayne State (Mich.) University on Mar. 15 · drove in four runs with a pair of doubles in a four-game set with then-No. 4 Minnesota State on Mar. 30-31 · plated five runs on a 3-for-3 night against Southwest Minnesota State on Apr. 5.

BEFORE UMD: A 2013 Libertyville High School graduate · started two seasons for coach Jim Schurr · named team captain in his senior season · finished second on the team in RBIs, home runs, stolen bases, and slugging while batting .317 for the Wildcats · also played two seasons a power forward for the Libertyville basketball team.
PERSONAL: Born Matthew Stephen Vogt in Charlottesville, Va. · son of Stephen and Lauren Vogt · one of four siblings (Jake, Abby, and Alex) · interests include hunting and fishing · majoring in accounting and finance at UMD.
