2016 NSIC All-Academic Team

Played for the Kenosha Kingfish of the Northwoods League during the 2016 summer season.

BULLDOG CAREER:
2016 (Sophomore) Toed the rubber in 12 games, including five starts for the Bulldogs · picked up the victory with 3.0 shutout innings of relief work at Southwest Minnesota State on April 13 · struck out nine batters on two occasions, both five-inning starts against Minnesota Crookston on April 20 and Minot State on May 1 · struck out two in a shutout inning against Concordia-St. Paul at the NSIC Tournament on May 13 · threw 1.1 scoreless against Emporia State in the NCAA Tournament on May 19 · NSIC All-Academic Team.
2015 (Freshman) Made eight appearances on the mound, including one start in his collegiate debut against St. Michael's (Vt.) on Mar. 17 · made six scoreless appearances out of the bullpen, allowing just one hit in that span · struck out the side in 1.0 inning against Minot State on May 2 · threw 3.1 innings, striking out three against Augustana (S.D.) in the NSIC/U.S. Bank Tournament on May 8.

BEFORE UMD: A 2014 graduate of Tartan High School · started four seasons as a pitcher, first baseman, and outfielder for coach Curt Russell and the Titans · helped lead Tartan to a Classic Suburban Conference championship in 2013 · named an All-Conference Honorable Mention in 2012 · also earned All-Conference honors and three straight Conference championships in basketball for the Titans and lettered in football as a quarterback, punter, and kicker.

PERSONAL: Born Thomas Keith Hanson in Maplewood, Minn. · son of Julie and Keith Hanson · has one sister, Anne · father played basketball at Hamline Universtiy · a member of National Honor Society, Link Crew, and Relay for Life at Tartan H.S. · enjoys hunting and fishing when off the diamond · majoring in accounting at UMD.
