BULLDOG CAREER
2020: Season canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic.
2019: Vatne saw time in every game on the season, playing in all 18... she started 12 games for the Bulldogs, which is 12 more than the previous season.... doubled her shots from her freshman year from eight to 16, with 20 hitting the net (.625 SOG)... finished with 1169 minutes total on the year with a career high 101 minutes against Michigan Tech University... ... was named to the NSIC All-Academic team.
2018: Appeared in 13 games as a reserve defender • not afraid to jump up into the offensive end, registering eight shots and three shots on goal • made her collegiate debut in the season opener at Michigan Tech on Aug 30 • logged 382 minutes including six games with at least 30 minutes on the pitch • racked up a season-game high 52 minutes against Minnesota State on Sept. 21 • compiled three shots in the contest versus Concordia-St. Paul on Sept. 23.

Vatne trained with the Bulldogs but did not see game action, receiving a redshirt during her first season in 2017.

BEFORE UMD: A 2017 graduate of Andover High School • was coached by Tracey Griess for four years • captained the Huskies to a Class AA third-place finish in the 2017 State Tournament • racked up all-state, all-conference and All-Minnesota State Tournament Team accolades her senior campaign • garnered all-conference honors as a junior and was a state participant in 2014 • played for the Centennial Soccer Club and guided that squad to a state cup title • earned All-Northwest Conference honorable mention status as a sprinter for the Huskies track team.

PERSONAL: Born Megan Jean Vatne on Sept. 8, 1998 in Andover, Minn. • daughter of Dean and Leslie Vatne • has one older sister Allison • spent time with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and was a youth soccer coach and referee during her time at Andover • plans to major in exercise science at UMD.
