AS A BULLDOG:
2021: Team captain ... went 6-5 overall in singles play ... spent time at both the No. 5 and No. 6 positions ... posted a 1-8 doubles record with four different teammates -- played with Natalie Cahill, Sophie Lynch, Mallory Lithun, and Shay Callaway all at the No. 2 position ... excelled in the classroom and was named to the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence.
2020: Posted a 6-3 record overall in singles before the season was cancelled due to COVID-19 ... played at the No. 5 and No. 6 positions ... paired with senior Megan Anderson in doubles and went 7-3 all at the No. 2 position.
2019: Ramped up her game a notch or two and had the numbers to prove -- like a singles winning percentage (.909 off an 10-1 record) that took a backseat to no other Bulldog and was the fourth best single-season mark in program history ... spent all but one of her 12 singles matches playing out of the No. 5 slot ... concluded the year riding a six-match winning streak ... posted a 6-1 mark in NSIC singles play ... teamed with rookie Ally Tiedemann to go 6-8 in doubles (primarily at No. 3) ... was bestowed with a NSIC Academic Team of Excellence Award.
2018: Closed out the year with a 4-3 singles record (all at No. 6) ... worked with three different doubles partners -- Natalie Cahill (six matches), Jillian Klassen (one match) and Arielle Emerson (one match) -- and compiled an even 4-4 mark ... spent the entire month of March on the injured list ... was the tennis representative on the UMD Academic Scholar List for maintaining the highest grade point average (3.94) of any of her Bulldog teammates during the 2017-18 school year.
BEFORE UMD: Is a 2017 graduate of Fargo South High School … spent six seasons in the Bruins' tennis program, playing for her father, head coach Jason Thiner ... was a three-time All-Eastern Dakota Conference honoree ... placed sixth in doubles at the 2017 North Dakota High School State Tournament ... handled the Bruins' team captaincy role as a junior and senior ... also lettered four years in swimming at Fargo South High School ... was a member of the National Honor Society.
PERSONAL: Is the daughter of Jason (who played tennis collegiately at the University of Minnesota-Morris) and Denise Thiner … has one younger brother (Nathan) … is majoring in integrated elementary and special education at UMD.
