AS A BULLDOG: 
2016:  Ramped his game up a notch or two and had the numbers to prove it ... closed out the ear with 27 tackles (19 more than the previous year) while playing in all 12 games ... received the first two starts of his collegiate career (at safety) in UMD's final two engagements of the season ... tied Aaron Gorres for the team lead in special teams tackles (13 -- all on kickoffs) ... ended the home portion of UMD's 2016 schedule with a bang by having a hand in a career-best eight stops against Mary on Nov. 5.
2015: Made 10 appearances, primarily on special teams ... picked up a team-high three of his eight total tackles off of punt returns ...  collected two stops four different times ... even took a few snaps at quarterback against Bemidji State following an injury to backup Nate Ricci and rushed twice for two yards in that 14-9 victory against the host Beavers.
2014: Helped fortify the safety position and strutted his stuff in nine games ... picked up two tackles on three occasions -- versus Minnesota-Crookston (Nov. 1), Mary (Nov. 8) and Northwest Missouri State (Nov. 22).
2013: Was redshirted as a first-year freshman in 2013.
BEFORE UMD: Spent four years in a starting role at Cook County High School, the final two as a team captain … was named the Great Polar League's Most Valuable Player in 2012 while snaring All-Great Polar League recognition for the second time in as many years … has been selected to suit up with the outstate team in the Minnesota High School All-Star game … racked up more than 2,500 rushing yards and threw for over 2,500 more while recording 300-plus tackles and making 11 interceptions in his career … earned four letters each in basketball (point guard) and baseball (infielder and pitcher) at Cook County High School.
PERSONAL: Is the son of Mike and Lori Boomer ... is majoring in civil engineering at UMD.
COLLEGIATE HIGHS: Total Tackles - 8 vs. Mary (11/6/16).
