• 2019 TEAM CAPTAIN •
AS A BULLDOG:
2018: Was handed the keys to the starting left defensive end assignment and responded to that promotion with a selection to the All-NSIC second team ... was credited with a career-high 19 total tackles -- which paced all UMD defensive linemen -- including 2.0 sacks and three quarterback hurries in 12 starts.
2017: More than held his own as a second-year member of UMD's talented defensive end rotation ... had a hand in eight tackles while making seven appearances.
2016: Made himself right at home in his first go-around with the Bulldog varsity ... came off the bench to register 16 total tackles, including 2.5 for a loss ... picked up six of those stops (all assists) at Minnesota Crookston on Oct. 29.
2015: Was red-shirted as a first-year freshman.
BEFORE UMD: Started three years (outside linebacker and tight end) at Xavier High School in Appleton, Wis. ... was a three-time All-Eastern Valley Conference selection (first team in 2014 and 2013 and third team as a sophomore) ... nailed down 2014 Wisconsin Football Coaches Association All-State (honorable mention) and All-Region honors  ... voted the Hawks' Most Valuable Defensive Player following his senior year ... also lettered three times in basketball (All-EVC center) and once in track (shot put and discus) at Xavier H.S.
PERSONAL: Is the son of Gregory and Kim Johnson ... is majoring in exercise science at UMD.
COLLEGIATE HIGHS: Total Tackles - 6 at Minnesota Crookston (10/29/16).  Sacks - 1.0 at Winona State (10/20/18) and at Augustana College (10/6/18). Tackles For Loss - 1.0 (4 Times).
