University of Minnesota-Duluth center Jason Schneeweis was named a third-team All-American in the April edition of the Division II Bulletin.
Schneeweis, a 6-9 senior from Hubertus, WI, was the 2003 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year. He led the league in rebounds for a second-straight year, hauling in 8.7 per game. A three-time NSIC Player of the Week during the 2002-03 season, Schneeweis also led the circuit in blocked shots and was third in scoring (19.9 ppg) and field-goal percentage (132-for-224, .589). A two-time All-NSIC first-team selection, Schneeweis ended his career eighth on UMD's all-time scoring list with 1,474 points. He is second in career rebounds (879) and blocked shots (131). Schneeweis was twice named to the All-NSIC Tournament team including MVP honors in 2002. As a junior he was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-North Central Region second team.
UMD finished the 2002-03 season at 19-12, qualifying for the NCAA II Tournament for the second straight season.
