The University of Minnesota Duluth tennis team had its season come to an end today at the North Central Conference Tournament. After first place finishes in the last two seasons as members of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference the Bulldogs came in seventh in their first year in the NCC.
Highlights of the weekends play came as junior Kara Skildum took fourth place in the No. 2 singles position, sophomore Stacy Schulz came in fourth in No. 4 singles, junior Beth Standke took sixth in No. 3 singles, and Schulz and Standke combined for a fifth place finish in the No. 2 doubles spot.
UMD has a young squad this season, as they had a lone senior and two juniors on the squad of nine. Standke and Schulz combined for the best doubles record (10-5) on the team this season and the most wins for singles (10) as well.
