The No. 5-ranked University of Minnesota Duluth volleyball team had two players earn North Central Conference Player of the week awards this week when two-time AVCA All-American
Vicky Braegelmann was named the NCC Offensive Player of the Week and
Chelsea Meierotto was tabbed Defensive Player of the Week.
Braegelmann, a junior outside hitter from Albany, Minn., hit .621 (20k-2e-29ta) while averaging 6.67 kills per game in leading UMD to a win over Bemidji State last week. The honor was the fifth of the year for Braegelmann. She shared the award with the University of North Dakota's Tara Holmen.
The NCC named Meierotto, a senior libero from Washburn, Wis., the Defensive Player of the Week. She shared the award with Christina Reicks of the University of Nebraska-Omaha. Meierotto, averaged 7.67 digs per game in a win over Bemidji State. The honor was the third of the year for Meierotto.
The Bulldogs (20-2, 6-0 NCC) have now had 13 NCC volleyball player of the week recipients this season.
UMD will travel to Omaha, Neb., on Oct. 13 to take on the University of Nebraska-Omaha in NCC action.
