RAYMOND CITED AS WCHA CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Mason Raymond, who helped the University of Minnesota Duluth usher in the New Year with a pair of victories over Michigan Tech University last weekend, has been selected the Western Collegiate Hockey Association's Co-Offensive Player of the Week.

Raymond, a sophomore left winger from Cochrane, Alberta, set up UMD's first goal in Friday's 2-1 overtime triumph and then scored once -- the game-winner which broke a 3-3 third period tie -- and assisted on another tally the following night as the Bulldogs rallied past the Huskies 5-3.

The 2005-06 WCHA All-Rookie team member put seven shots on goal and was a plus-1 on the weekend. Raymond, who shared the league's weekly honor with St. Cloud State University's Andrew Gordon, currently tops the Bulldogs with 23 points on seven goals and 16 assists and is tied for 10th on the WCHA's overall scoring charts.

Raymond is the third Bulldog to be so honored by the WCHA in 2006-07, joining fellow sophomores Matt Niskanen (Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 17) and MacGregor Sharp (Offensive/Oct. 17).

The Bulldogs, who are riding a three-game winning streak, will remain at home to host WCHA rival Colorado College this weekend.
