For the fifth time in the University of Minnesota Duluth women's hockey team history, a Bulldog team is cashing in an NCAA title with a trip to the White House.
The 2010 national champions will be honored by President Barack Obama Monday at 4:00 p.m. (EST) in a ceremony celebrating all the champions in Division I sports over the past year. It marks the fifth time head coach Shannon Miller has visited the White House with a UMD squad, and will be her first meeting a president other than George W. Bush, who hosted the Bulldogs on the previous four occasion.
All players rostered on the 2009-2010 team will make the trip, as well as Miller, assistant coach Laura Schuler and new chancellor Lendley Black. The Bulldogs will be flying commericial airlines between the Minneapolis-St. Paul and Washington D.C.
