For the third time in as many years, senior volleyball defensive specialist Allison Fanta is getting the recognition deserved for her achievements off the court as well as on it.

Fanta earned Capital One Academic All-District 7 first team honors, her 3.97 cumulative grade point average standing as one of the top among student-athletes in the region.

Going for a B.B.A in management, Fanta also earned first-team honors in 2010, and was named to the third team in 2009.

Fanta has been used extensively in the back row since first donning the Bulldogs' uniform in 2008, and averages 1.84 digs per set this season while starting all 28 matches. Fanta holds the second-highest service return percentage on the team, at .966.
