The University of Minnesota Duluth will return to Romano Gym on Tuesday night for a meeting with their border rivals from the University of Wisconsin-Superior.
UMD (1-1) returns home after falling to the defending Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champions, Michigan Tech. The Bulldogs opened a seven-point lead early in the first half, but the Huskies whittled away and eventually took the lead, and the game. Junior

On the Yellowjackets
UW-Superior opens its regular season against UMD, but fell to the Bulldogs' Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference rivals from the University of Sioux Falls 93-69 in an exhibition on Nov. 9. Senior Jarrod Peterson led the way with 20 points in 30 minutes of action. He earned a WIAC All-Conference Honorable Mention last season. Four 'Jackets hit double figures on the night. Big-man Bronson Byrne returns at the post after receiving an All-WIAC Honorable Mention averaging 11.5 points and 4.9 boards per game.
UMD is 89-44 against UWS in the all-time series including a 91-65 exhibition win last season.
Fans are encouraged to bring canned good as the Bulldogs collect for a food drive for Champ's Cupboard during the bridge battle. UMD and UWS are set to tip-off at 8:00 p.m. following the women's game.
