A fourth-place Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference cross country finish is in the cards for both the University of Minnesota Duluth men and women -- at least according to the league coaches and their annual preseason poll which was released today. That's exactly where each of the two Bulldog teams placed in last year's NSIC meet.
The Bulldogs picked up 99 points on the men's side to share the No. 4 spot with the University of Mary while the UMD women's received 158 points. Augustana College was picked to repeat as the women's champion for the sixth straight year and the Vikling men, who have won the past four NSIC title, were the No. 1 choice as well.
Both the UMD men and women will open their respective 2013 seasons at the St. John's University Invitational in Collegeville, Minn.
