BULLDOG SPOTLIGHT: KENNY CHOWA

Kenny Chowa
His number may have changed, but Kenny Chowa's nose for the football certainly hasn't. Just ask the folks at Upper Iowa University.

Two weeks ago, the University of Minnesota Duluth standout senior cornerback had a hand in a career-high 13 total tackles (which was five more than his previous best), including 11 solos, and also broke up a pass in the Bulldogs' 37-19 road besting of Upper Iowa. Chowa, a 2012 All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference North Division first team pick from Menomonie, Wis., is in his third year of starting duty and occupies second place on UMD's defensive charts with 17 stops through three games. Both his six lifetime interceptions and 10 pass breakups are unmatched by any 2013 Bulldog.

This fall, Chowa is sporting No. 21 in honor of his football hero (see below) after three seasons of roaming the UMD secondary in the No. 29 jersey.
