Box Score The University of Minnesota Duluth earned a season sweep of its Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference rival Minot State University on Friday night, dominating the final two-thirds of the contest for an 88-80 win.
Minot State (6-9, 2-9 NSIC) opened up a nine-point lead, 21-12 at 12:34 Â in the opening half, but UMD (7-8, 5-6 NSIC) chipped away and knotted the score at 35-all with three minutes remaining in the half. The Bulldogs took the lead for the first time since the opening minute on a

UMD built on that lead early in the second half, extending it to 13 at the midway point of the period and held on the rest of the way. Senior guard
Peter Crawford (24 points) nearly went score-for-score with Minot's E.J. Williams (27 points, a game-high) in the second half while junior guard
Reece Zoelle also added 20 points on the night. Junior guard
Junior Coleman was 6-of-10 in the first half for 15 points and finished with 19 on the night.
The Bulldogs shot 51.9 percent on the night while Minot finished at 46.6. UMD limited the Beavers' second chances with 25 defensive rebounds on the night. Zoelle led the Bulldogs with seven boards on the night while MSU big-man Chris East had a game-high nine. The 88 points marks a season-high for the Bulldogs, surpassing an 86-point effort last Friday night against the University of Sioux Falls.
UMD will match up tomorrow evening with the University of Mary in Bismarck, N.D. Opening tip is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
