AVCA Division II Coaches Top 25 Week #11 Poll (Nov. 17, 2014)
2014 NCAA II Central Region Tournament PageThe University of Minnesota Duluth gained four first place votes in the final American Volleyball Coaches Association Division II poll of the regular season released Monday, now holding eight on the season. Teams from the NCAA II Central region rank second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth.
No. 2 UMD (31-1) is tied for the second-most victories in NCAA II with two schools and has the fewest losses along with No. 1 the University of Tampa. The Bulldogs now own eight first place votes, and Tampa the remaining 40. Other teams ranked in the Central region include No. 3 Concordia University, St. Paul, the University of Nebraska Kearney and Southwest Minnesota State University tied at four, and No. 6 Wayne State (Neb.) College. No. 14 Washburn University and No. 16 the University of Central Missouri round out the Central Region's representation in the top 25 with more teams, including Northern State University of the NSIC, among the teams receiving votes.
UMD takes on Arkansas Tech University in the opening round of the tournament on Thursday night at Romano Gym. Opening serve is set for 7:30 p.m.
