Wind and cold temperatures led to the cancellation of the fourth and final game in the series, but it was too late for the University of Minnesota Duluth as Augustana College completed a sweep of the Bulldogs, knocking off UMD 11-3 at Karras Park in Sioux Falls, S.D. on Sunday afternoon.

UMD (7-18, 3-12 NSIC) junior catcher Beau Goff had two of UMD's three runs batted in, including a line-drive home run in the seventh inning. When Augustana (25-10, 15-4 NSIC) plated the first run of the game in the second inning on an infield single, Goff and the Bulldogs answered back in the bottom of the inning with an RBI ground-out that scored freshman right fielder Matt Vogt.

The Vikings would answer right back, plating three runs in the third inning to knock Bulldog sophomore starter Ryan Lakin (0-4) out after just three innings. Lakin collected four strikeouts but had a pair of walks and a hit batter. Four UMD errors contributed to extending the lead for Augustana as sophomore Kyle Fritz relieved Lakin for the final four innings, allowing seven runs but just three earned. Viking sophomore hurler Michael Ketkewicz moved to 5-1 on the season with 5.0 innings against the Bulldogs, striking out ten and allowing just one earned run before the bullpen shut the door for the final two innings.

UMD continues on the road this week with a doubleheader in Bismarck, N.D. against the University of Mary on Tuesday afternoon. Opening pitch is set for 1:30 p.m.
