The University of Minnesota Duluth fell last time out but will look to get back to its winning ways as the team welcomes St. Cloud State University to Romano Gym to open Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play this Saturday.
UMD (3-2) impressed in an exhibition outing against the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay of NCAA Division I on Sunday afternoon but fell to the Green Bay Phoenix, wrapping up a three-game road trip. This week, the Bulldogs return to "the friendly confines" of Romano Gym to take on its NSIC rival in both team's conference opener.

St. Cloud State (R.V.) hosted its own regional tournament over the weekend, falling to NCAA Division III foe Saint John's University before getting its first victory of the non-conference season over Mayville State University .. the Huskies hosted Northland (Wis.) College on Tuesday evening before coming to Duluth this weekend ... SCSU graduated All-NSIC First Team selection Jordan Poydras after last season ... redshirt freshman Gage Davis leads the Huskies averaging 19.5 points per game on the young season ... junior guards Scottie Stone and Mark Hall each are averaging double digits scoring on the season at 15.3 and 12.5 points per game, respectively, this season ... head coach Matt Reimer is in his second season with the Huskies in 2015-16 ... St. Cloud owns a 39-32 record all-time against UMD, including a 98-74 victory in Romano Gym last time out on Dec. 20, 2014 ...
