Alex Iafallo got his 2016 off to an encouraging start last Saturday night by figuring in on three goals -- including the game-winner -- in the University of Minnesota Duluth's 4-3 overtime triumph against the U.S. National Under-18 Team at AMSOIL Arena. Points, after all, were a bit hard to come by for the junior left winger from Eden, N.Y., during the first half of the regular season. Coming off back-to-back 20-plus point seasons, Iafallo managed just two goals and six assists in the opening 17 games of 2015-16, but he -- and the Bulldog coaching staff -- are hopeful that the three-assist night in that comeback exhibition win on Jan. 2 is a sign the reigning Stauber Brothers UMD Fan Favorite Award winner may have found his scoring grove again.
