Coming off the heels of a historic victory in St. Cloud, the University of Minnesota Duluth sat out of game action for nearly two weeks, but the Bulldogs will look to maintain momentum as they host a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference South Division foes at Romano Gym.

UMD (8-3, 5-1 NSIC) has yet to suffer a defeat against an unranked team and will look for a third victory against a ranked team as the Bulldogs host No. 25 Minnesota State University on Sunday in a game broadcast on the My9 Sports Network locally, but first, the team will take on Concordia University, St. Paul on Saturday.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN BEARS | 3-8, 0-5 NSIC
Concordia-St. Paul picked up a victory over St. John's University, 88-54, last time out to snap a six-game losing streak ... the Golden Bears have just one victory on the road this season, 80-70 at Bemidji State University on Nov. 24 ... senior guard Cole Olstad leads Concordia with 12.9 points per game and grabs 5.4 rebounds per game ... senior center Shea Mandli also averages double digits scoring and a team-high 6.2 boards per outing ... head coach Joey James is in his second year at Concordia-St. Paul ... UMD has posted a 12-12 all-time record against the Golden Bears, falling last season 65-56 on the road on Jan. 2, 2015, a year to the date of this weekend's meeting.

SCOUTING THE MAVERICKS | 9-2, 4-1 NSIC
No. 25 Minnesota State has won four-straight, cracking the top-25 of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) rankings once again this past week ... the Mavericks knocked off Concordia-St. Paul 86-59 last time out and will travel to St. Cloud State University on Saturday before heading to Duluth ... MSU has four players averaging double figures scoring, led by junior guard Mike Busack with 13.7 points per game and 5.4 rebounds ... junior forward Jon Fuqua has averaged a team-high 6.5 boards per game as well as 11.6 points ... head coach Matt Margenthaler is in his 14th season leading the Mavericks in 2015-16 ... Minnesota State leads UMD 43-32 in the all-time series including an 86-71 victory last season on Jan. 3, 2015.

FREE THROWS
UMD made history on Saturday, Dec. 19, knocking off St. Cloud State 100-92 on the road in the team's 2015 finale ... the Bulldogs had not defeated the Huskies at Hallenbeck Hall since December 1994, and they earned a season-sweep over SCSU for the first time since the teams started playing twice regularly in the 2004-05 season ... UMD crossed the 100-point threshold for the first time since Dec. 2, 2011 (W 101-68 vs Minnesota Crookston) ... senior forward Brendon Pineda controlled the game offensively with a career-high 35 points, shooting 53 percent from the floor including 5-of-10 from three-point range while grabbing a team-high eight rebounds.
