James Ryan placed seventh while his senior teammate,
Brooks Zamzow, was eighth at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Heptathlon Championships, which wrapped up today in Mankato, Minn.
Ryan racked up 4252 points (a 221-point improvement from his total in 2014 when he took ninth) during the two-day event that featured 15 competitors. His highest showing in the seven events came in the 60-meter high hurdles where the Oakdale, Minn., product captured first with time of 8.53 seconds. Zamzow, a native of Byron, Minn. who competed in the 2014 NSIC heptathlon meet, but did not finish, wound up with 4,210 points (which, like Ryan's total, was a lifetime best) with a third-place performance in the pole vault (12'-07.5") being his top placing.
The tandem collected three team points which the Bulldogs will take into the NSIC Indoor Track and Field Championships on Feb. 27-28.
