2015 NSIC Winter All-Academic Teams Release (May 13, 2015)
A total of 49 University of Minnesota Duluth student athletes, including six from the Bulldog softballl team, qualified for a spot on the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference All-Academic Team for the 2015 spring sport season.
The NSIC announced that 636 student-athletes have earned NSIC All-Academic honors for the 2015 spring athletic season. To be eligible for this honor, the student-athlete must be a member of the varsity traveling team and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or better. Furthermore, the student-athlete must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at her/his institution (true freshmen, red-shirt freshmen and ineligible athletic transfers are not eligible) and must have completed at least one full academic year at that institution.
The Bulldogs had the fourth-most representatives of any league school, trailing only the Winona State University (65), the University of Sioux Falls (58), and Northern State University (53). UMD was followed by Minnesota State University-Mankato (47), St. Cloud State University (42), Augustana College (41), Concordia University-St. Paul (40), University of Mary (39), Minnesota State University-Moorhead (37), Bemidji State University (33), Wayne State College (29), Minot State University (28), Upper Iowa University (27), the University of Minnesota Crookston (23) and Southwest Minnesota State University (22).
