Eighteen years after he ran his last collegiate race, George Hanson has become somewhat of a "master" of his craft.

On Sunday (June 28) at the 2015 USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore., the University of Minnesota Duluth alumnus captured first place in Master's 3,000-meter run, clocking in at 8:50.96. Hanson, a native of Brooklyn Park, Minn., was a four track and cross country letterman with the Bulldogs and captain both teams as a senior in 1996-97. He still holds both the school 1,500-meter indoor and outdoor records as well as the outdoor mile mark (banked track).
