NG AND BULLDOGS SHUT DOWN SIOUX FALLS

Behind a shutout from sophomore goalkeeper Sisley Ng, the University of Minnesota Duluth defeated the University of Sioux Falls 1-0 on Saturday morning in Sioux Falls, S.D.

The Bulldogs (6-4-3; 4-3-3 NSIC) took down the Cougars (2-9-2; 2-7-1 NSIC) thanks to second half goal from junior forward Taylor Johnson at 66:23, her second of the season. Sophomore midfielder Natalie St. Martin picked up an assist on the score to record her third point of the season. Ng grabbed her third shutout of the season, making eight saves while being awarded with her second win. Despite Sioux Falls racking up 17 shots as opposed to UMD's 13, the Cougars were unable to get anything going offensively. UMD landed just four shots on goal to USF's eight. With the victory, the Bulldogs are 2-2-1 in their previous five games and move above .500 in conference play.

UMD is alone in eight place in the NSIC, trailing first place Minot State University by nine points.

The Bulldogs will take on Southwest Minnesota State University (4-8; 3-6 NSIC) on Sunday (Oct. 16) at 1:00 p.m. The Mustangs are 1-4 in their last five games.
