The University of Minnesota Duluth jumped back over the .500 mark in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play by taking down Winona State University 2-0 Sunday afternoon at James S. Malosky Stadium.
The Bulldogs (5-3-2; 3-2-2 NSIC) blanked the Warriors (4-5-1; 1-5-1 NSIC) due in large part to sophomore goalkeeper
Carlye Wright in her season debut. UMD now has five wins on the season, surpassing its total wins from 2015 (4). Wright would finish with nine saves on the day, tying a career high.

Skye Finley would score a header off a corner from sophomore defender

Natalie St. Martin would add an insurance goal for the Bulldogs at 54:30. Sophomore forward
Destiny Schmitz and Finley would be credited with the assist. Finley would finish with a career-high in points for a single game (3).
UMD will stay home to face No. 15 Minot State Universitu (7-1; 6-0 NSIC) on Friday (Oct. 7).
"We have a difficult opponent on Friday, Minot State," head coach
Greg Cane said. "So, we prepare mentally about being the best team on this field."
The Beavers are currently the top ranked team in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. Minot State has outscored its
opponents 19-4 this season and are currently on a six-game winning streak.
