As a final tuneup for next weekend's Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, the University of Minnesota Duluth sent a squadron of Bulldogs to Friday's Snowshoe Open on the University of Minnesota campus.
Among those competing was junior
Brian Lee, who for third time this season set a school record in the weight throw with a NCAA Division II provisionally-qualifying toss of 59'-09.00". Lee's previous best was a 59'-6.75" effort two weeks ago at the Lake Superior Challenge in Duluth. Senior
James Ryan, fresh off a seventh-place finish at the NSIC Indoor Heptathlon Championships this past Monday, took fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with the a time of 8.44. Freshmen
Isaac Overmyer (9:01.00) and
Luke Lahr (9:03.12) were sixth and seventh, respectively, in the 3,000-meter run while Lee took seventh in both the weight throw and shot put (46'-08.00") events.
The two-day NSIC indoor meet starts on Friday (Feb. 26) in Mankato, Minn.
