UMD AND CONCORIDA-ST. PAUL PLAY TO 1-1 DRAW FRIDAY NIGHT

The University of Minnesota Duluth once again found themselves settling for a tie, this time a 1-1 draw against Concordia-St. Paul.

The Bulldogs (2-1-2; 0-0-2 NSIC) have yet to lose on the road this season (1-0-0; 0-0-2 NSIC) after taking on the winless Golden Bears (0-3-1; 0-0-1).

Junior defender Emily Fleissner garnered her first career goal at 28:22 to put UMD up 1-0. The Bulldogs defense held their own throughout the game, tying a season low in shots allowed (7), and a new season low with shots on goal allowed (2). But with just seconds left on the clock, sophomore midfielder Mary Kaiser capped her first career goal for Concordia-St. Paul to tie the game 1-1. The game would head into overtime, where neither team would collect a single shot in either the first or second OT. UMD has allowed just three goals throught their first five games this season, the least since 2006, when they allowed just three goals through their first eight games.

The last time the Bulldogs saw themselves in back-to-back double overtime games was four years ago on Sept. 29, 2012 at Augustana (S.D.) and Sept. 30, 2012 at Wayne State (Neb.). Both games would end in a draw. UMD last won an OT or 2OT game on Oct. 18, 2013 against Concordia-St. Paul. They have gone 0-4-6 in OT or 2OT during that span.

The Bulldogs will wrap up their road trip against Minnesota State Mankato (1-2-1; 0-1-0 NSIC) Sunday (Sept. 18) with kickoff starting at 1 p.m.
