The University of Minnesota Duluth picked up their first Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference victory of the season with a 3-1 win over the MSU-Moorhead Dragons.
The Bulldogs (3-2-2; 1-2-2 NSIC) capitalized on some key penalty kicks as they took down the Dragons (2-4; 1-3 NSIC) Friday night at Malosky Stadium.
Junior defender
Skye Finley collected her second goal of the season to put UMD on the board with five minutes left in the first half. The Bulldogs offense attacked the Dragon defenders and goalkeeper all night, finishing with a season-high in goals (3), shots (22) and shots on goal (17). Senior forward
Kailey Beatt started the game with zero points on the season thus far and ended with a pair of goals. Beatt put away two penalty kick goals in the second half to seal the deal for the Bulldogs.

Sisley Ng patrolled the posts for UMD as she finished with six saves on her way to picking up her first win of the season. Freshman midfielder
Sophie Horn made her first career start tonight for the Bulldogs, finishing with a pair of shots on goal.
The University of Minnesota Duluth will head back on the road to take on the Northern State University (4-2; 2-2 NSIC) Sunday (Sept. 25) at 1 p.m in Aberdeen, SD.
