In the rematch game between the University of Minnesota Duluth and Minot State University, MSU got its revenge in a 78-72 victory over UMD on Friday night. The Beavers got their first win of the 2017 calendar year after losing their last 11 games dating back to Dec. 31, 2016.
UMD (13-10; 11-8 NSIC) started the game a perfect 8-of-8 beyond the arc -- a program record for consecutive three-pointers -- against MSU (4-21; 2-17 NSIC) as it took a 45-38 lead into the second half.
The Bulldogs went 10-of-14 (71.4 percent) from the floor and 7-of-7 to jump out to a 29-17 lead after the first quarter. Sophomore guard

Taylor Meyer led the way for UMD, combining for 36 points on 12-of-18 shooting in the first half. The duo also accounted for seven of the nine three-pointers scored in the first half by the Bulldogs.
After shooting 53.6 percent off 15-of-28 attempts, and 9-of-11 (81.8 percent) from deep, for 45 points in the first half, UMD would shoot just 32.0 percent in the second half off 8-of-25 shooting. The Bulldogs couldn't find the groove they had in the first 20 minutes, converting on just 3-of-14 (21.4 percent) from three in the final two quarters.
Sophomore guard
Emma Boehm garnered her first start since exactly two months ago on Dec. 10, 2016 against Sioux Falls. Boehm would finish with 11 points on 3-of-11 shooting and a season-high two blocks.
UMD will wrap up its four-game road trip against the University of Mary (12-15; 7-12 NSIC) on Saturday (Feb. 11) at 4 p.m.
