Before breaking for the Easter holiday, the University of Minnesota Duluth paid a visit to the Hamline University campus Thursday for the University of St. Thomas' Tomcat Twilight.
The Bulldogs turned in a number of strong performances, including in the 4 x 400 meter relay race where junior
Darrick Jackson, freshmen
Sam Wiechman and
Wyatt Midtvedt and senior
Ben Hanson placed second in a time of 3:28.56. Junior
Logan Rubeck was third in the 110-meter hurdles (15.39) and sixth in the high jump (5'-10.75") while junior
Cody Sedbrook (9:37.64) and senior
Drew Johnson (9:44.73) placed 3-4 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. In the javelin, rookie
Bradford Owens' toss of 155'-07" was the fourth best among 16 competitors. UMD also received a pair of fifth-place efforts from junior
Clinton Treichel in the shot put (50'-02.75") and sophomore
Quinton Lee in the 400-meter hurdles (57.99).
UMD will return to the track on April 22 for the Holst Invitational, which is being hosted by Concordia University-St. Paul.
