Justin Wieck coaching debut as they won 116-68 over the College of St. Scholastica this afternoon in the home opener.
The 116 points scored is the most since a 126-124 overtime win over Bemidji State University on Feb. 25, 2009. Its the first time UMD has reached triple digits in 67 games, The Bulldogs did that 1,380 days ago on Jan. 30, 2015.
Junior guard
Logan Rohrscheib finished with a game high 22 points as he was one of five players in double figures for UMD. Junior forward
Brandon Myer collected 19 points and stuffed the stat sheet in just 21 minutes. Myer had five rebounds, four assists, three steals and a pair of blocks. The All-NSIC second team selection from last season had 17 of his 19 points in the first half. Senior guard
Sean Burns went 6-of-7 from the field for 15 points and pulled down a game high nine boards. Senior forward

Hunter Plamann each had 11 points.
UMD shot 63.2 percent from the floor and racked up 12 three pointers. The Bulldogs dominated in the paint, scoring 63 points. They also got out in transition, dropping 23 fast break points. UMD jumped out to a 61-29 lead at the half and led by as much as 50 late in the second. The Bulldogs led for all but 29 seconds.
Collin Anderson and Quinn Fischer each had 13 points for the Saints. St. Scholastica shot 38.1 percent and only 28 percent in the first 20 minutes.
Eleven of the 12 Bulldogs players who entered today's game scored. Plamann racked up a game high eight assists in his first collegiate action. The Bulldogs doubled the rebounding total (48-24) of the Saints. UMD combined for 28 assists on 11 turnovers and had six blocks and 12 steals in the contest.
The Bulldogs will be at Northern Michigan University next Tuesday for their first non conference action of the 2018-19 season.
