Different season. Different Hunter. Same results.
After spending his rookie season one year ago watching Hunter Miska handle basically all of the University of Minnesota Duluth's puckstopping duties, Hunter Shepard has assumed that workhorse role this winter. Shepard, a three-time National Collegiate Hockey Conference Goaltender of the Week Honoree in 2017-18, has now made 25 straight starts going back to Oct. 21. The Cohasset, Minn., native and one-time North American Hockey League Goaltender of the Year (2015-16) currently ranks first among NCHC netminders in overall appearances (27), is second in both victories (14) and shutouts (three) and fourth in saves percentage (.915). His 14-12-1 record is a bit deceiving in that in three of his losses he has allowed just one goal.
