John Larson, who had a hand in six touchdowns in the University of Minnesota Duluth's 60-7 home triumph over Minnesota State University-Moorhead this past Saturday night, has been chosen the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
It marks the first time a Bulldog has received a weekly citation of any kind from the NSIC since Sept. 19, 2016 (Beau Boefferding - Special Team Player of the Week). Quarterback Drew Bauer (Oct. 15, 2015) was the last Bulldog to be bestowed with a NSIC Offensive Player of the Week citation.
A 6-1, 215-pound sophomore from Braham Minn., Larson threw a career-high five touchdowns passes while going 15-of-19 passes for yards with no interceptions. He also added another touchdown on the ground (a 10-yard run which opened the scoring for UMD in the first quarter) and paced both teams with 90 rushing yards on nine carries.
Larson, a 2017 All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference second team selection, currently ranks second among all NCAA II quarterbacks in passing efficiency with a 215.5 mark.
