Making its 2018 debut, the University of Minnesota Duluth placed nine women among the top 10 overall finishers to cruise to the Dan Conway Classic title Thursday afternoon in Superior, Wis.
The Bulldogs posted a team score of 16 at the four-school, 40-runner event -- 41 points ahead of runner up St. Scholastica.
Freshman
Morgan Radel took top honors, completing the 5,000-meter race at the Nemadji Golf Course in a time of 19:09.8. She was immediately followed by three Bulldogs -- freshman
Alexandra Robran (19:13.5) and juniors
Elizabeth Kyes (19:33.6) and
Lizzie Schlafke (19:40.8). Sophomore
Gabriella Brinkley (19:54.5) and freshmen
Mason Kalander (20:08.5) and
Haleigh Reindl (20:14.4) finished in the 6-8 spots, respectively, while
Megan Stuart, the Bulldogs' lone senior was ninth and another rookie
Lexie Chambers was 10th.
UMD, under the direction of Interim Head Coach
Scott Keenan, will return to action on Sept. 15 when it competes in the Augsburg University Invitational.
