UMD QUARTET RECEIVES TOP ACADEMIC HONORS

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Four student athletes represent the University of Minnesota Duluth softball program among 8,000-plus across all divisions of collegiate and high school softball as 2019 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes, announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association on Wednesday afternoon.

Catcher/utility player Jessica Bren, infielder Taylor Koehnen, outfielder Ali Schak, and infielder Jordyn Thomas received the coaches association's top academic honors for this past season. The honor recognizes those student athletes who received a grade point average of at least 3.50 throughout the 2018-19 academic year. For Bren and Koehnen, it marked the second consecutive season receiving the honor.
