UMD TEAM, THREE BULLDOGS ATTAIN USTFCCCA ALL-ACADEMIC CITATIONS FOR 2018

For the 13th consecutive year, the University of Minnesota Duluth has been recognized as a 2018 NCAA Division II All-Academic Cross Country Team by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. To qualify as an All-Academic Team, the institution had to possess a cumulative team grade point average of 3.00 or higher and have scored at the NCAA Division II regional meet.  UMD posted a 3.35 GPA and was one of 196 schools that received this honor.

On an individual front, seniors Luke Lahr and Isaac Overmyer and sophomore Braydon Kubat were among the 270 student-athletes nationwide to attain USTFCCCA All-Academic Team status for 2018. To earn All-Academic honors, a student-athlete must have completed at least 12 semester/quarter hours through the semester of competition at the institution to be eligible. The student-athlete must have at least a 3.25 cumulative grade point average and have placed in the top 30 percent of the total number of athletes eligible to compete at the respective regional championships, or in the top 50 percent of the field at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships.

Overmyer is a three-time USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honoree (2016-18) while Lahr also received that citation one year ago.
