This morning, Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced the re-signing of Bulldog hockey alum and forward Karson Kuhlman to a two-year contract. The contract is two-way for the 2020-21 season and one-way for the 2021-22 season.
Kuhlman, 25, appeared in 25 games last year with Boston, recording one goal and five assists, good for six points. Kuhlman also skated in 5 playoff games during the Bruins' post-season run in the NHL's Toronto bubble.
Prior to his professional career, Kuhlman spent all four years of his collegiate career with the Bulldogs. Kuhlman skated in 166 games for UMD, tallying 39 goals and 41 assists, good for 80 points. He also recorded a plus-41 rating and was an integral piece of the Bulldogs' special teams unit, with nine career power play goals, four shorthanded tallies, and seven game-winning goals. The Esko, Minn. native captained the 2017-18 UMD squad to the NCAA Frozen Four and a national championship.
