As a tuneup for next weekend's Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, a select group of University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs strutted their stuff at the University of Minnesota's Cold Classic on Friday afternoon.
Leading the way for the Bulldogs was junior
Christian Leonard, who posted a time of 1:56.94 in the 800-meter run to place second -- one spot ahead of sophomore teammate
Jonathan Tostenson (1:57.06).The junior tandem of
Noah Torvik (52.18) and
Tyler Wanous (52.99) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 400-meter dash. Additionally, UMD received a third-place showing from sophomore
Trent Hamerski in the long jump (21'-02.75"). Wanous also took fourth in the high jump with a leap of 5'-11.25" while junior
Austin Have came in fifth in the 600-meter run (1:24.58) as did senior
Dan Clark in the pole vault (15'-03.50")
The NSIC indoors are set for next Friday and Saturday (Feb. 28-29) in Mankato, Minn.
