REINDL FINISHES SIXTH IN 800-METER FINAL, ACHIEVES ALL-AMERICAN STATUS FOR THE SECOND CONSECUTIVE YEAR

Tonight, UMD junior Haleigh Reindl finished sixth in the NCAA II Indoor Track and Field 800-meter championship. Reindl ran a time of 2:12.33 in tonight's championship race.

Reindl had already locked up her second consecutive All-American distinction in the 800-meter run by qualifying for tonight's race. Reindl will go down as the sixth best NCAA II Track and Field athlete in the 800-meter run for the 2020-21 Indoor Track and Field season.

"It feels awesome to be a true All-American". Said Reindl "Having this short season that we had was amazing and I'm so thankful for this opportunity and looking forward to and excited to build on this for outdoor."

"Haleigh is a fantastic example of what happens with consistent training and experience" said Head Coach Laura Harmon. "She worked so hard over the past year, since we were down in Alabama and it showed 100%. She came to nationals with a mission to become an All-American running around the oval and she accomplished that. I know there is more to come for her, but we are celebrating this victory because so much work and dedication went into it".
