As the basketball season approaches, the University of Minnesota Duluth men's basketball team has added a marquee matchup to its schedule. On December 15th, the Bulldogs will make the trip to Reno, NV to battle the University of Nevada Wolf Pack.
"It'll be a great experience for our program," said UMD Head Coach
Justin Wieck when asked about the opportunity. "It's going to be one of the best teams that we've played in a long time, and they'll be one of the top Division 1 programs in the country this year. For us it's about the experience, the team bonding, and giving our guys the chance to play in front of 15,000 fans. I'm extremely thankful for the opportunity."
For the first time since the 2018-19 season, UMD will faceoff with a Division 1 opponent. Back in November of 2018, the Bulldogs traveled to Minneapolis, Minn. to battle the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers. During the 2014-15 season, UMD played games against the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, Notre Dame, and the University of Minnesota.
