Kenosha, Wisconsin – The No. 11 Bulldogs faced off against Lake Superior State. For the 2
nd time in a week span, the Bulldogs defeat the Lakers 3-0 (25-19, 25-16, 25-20)
After trading points in the first set with a tie score of 5-5, the Bulldogs began to gain an advantage. The Bulldogs took the lead and built a 14-9 lead. The Lakers would try to mount a comeback however and got it to 19-18 Bulldogs. The Bulldogs would shut down the Lakers comeback attempt and go on to win 6 of 7 points to win the first set 25-19.
To begin the 2
nd set, the Bulldogs and Lakers would trade points to get to a 4-5 score in favor of the Lakers. The Bulldogs would then go on to score 10 of the next 12 points to take a commanding 14-7 lead. After both teams traded points, the Bulldogs would go on another scoring stretch by scoring 8 of 10 points to close out the Lakers in the 2
nd set.
In the 3
rd set, the Bulldogs would continue their momentum and would jump out to a quick 8-2 lead. The Lakers would then work their way back into the set, getting the score to 12-9 in favor of the Bulldogs. Both teams would trade score streaks, and after a 5-point streak by the Lakers to get the score to 22-18, Coach Boos would call a timeout for the Bulldogs. The timeout seemed to do the trick as the Bulldogs were able to close out the Lakers and win the last set 25-20.
Head Coach
Jim Boos thought this match against Lake Superior State was much more challenging than a week prior. The Lakers were able to stay in system more this go around, which gave the Bulldogs some problems. Coach Boos was happy with how his team was able to grind through the challenges and get a good win.
The Bulldogs were led by Sophomore

Kate Berg added 7 kills, along with Sophomore
Grace Daak who also contributed 7 kills.
Madison Gordon added 33 assists for the match, while
Sydney Lanoue added 12 digs.
The Lakers were led by Ally Gruber who had 12 kills. Halle Grulke added 27 assists for the Lakers. Ally Gruber added 14 digs while Emily Hagelthorn added 13.

The first set would set the tone for the whole match. The Bulldogs jumped out to a early 11-5 lead. But the Rangers would not stay quiet for long. The Rangers would fight back to get to a 19-19 tie. Teams would trade points back and forth, until the Bulldogs gained a 25-24 lead. The Bulldogs would not be able to close out the Rangers however, and the Rangers would win the first set 26-28.
In the second set, the Rangers would jump out to an early 2-6 lead. The Bulldogs would answer this and storm back to take an 11-8 lead. Much like the first set, both teams would trade points and continue the tough match. Teams would continue to battle to a 20-20 tie. Much like the first set, teams would trade points again and get to a 23-23 tie. But once again, the Bulldogs couldn't capitalize, and the Rangers would win the second set 23-25.
To start the third set, the Bulldogs would jump out to an early 7-3 lead. The Bulldogs would not stop there however, they would build up to a 14-9 lead. After trading points with the Rangers, the Bulldogs would score 8 of 12 points to close out the Rangers in the third set and win the set 25-16.
Much like the rest of the match, the fourth set was highly contested. Neither team could really take a commanding lead until the Bulldogs were able to pull ahead to a 15-11 advantage. The Bulldogs would continue to build a lead bringing it to 19-13. The Rangers however would not quit as they fought back to a 21-20 score. Coming out of a time out by Head Coach
Jim Boos, the Bulldogs would close out the Rangers and win the fourth set 25-21.
In the last set, neither team would go quietly. Teams would continue to battle it out all the way to the end. Neither team could pull out with a lead more of two points. The Bulldogs and Rangers would battle to a 13-13 tie. After a point for the Bulldogs to make it a 14-13 score, the Rangers would call a timeout. Coming out of the timeout, the Rangers would tie it up at 14-14. Unlike the first two sets, the Bulldogs were able to close out the Rangers with two straight points to win the set 16-14.
Head Coach
Jim Boos saw this game as a similar situation as the one they were in a week prior against Michigan Tech, where the Bulldogs lost 3-0. The difference in this match was that the Bulldogs were able to get over the hump of being down 2-0. The Bulldogs were able to get into a rhythem in the third set, and their serves became more effective and the team was able to make plays. Coach Boos was happy about how his team was able to come back and grind out a great win in a tough match. The Bulldogs learned a lot about themselves tonight and showed that they have the ability to come back and grind out a win.

Cianna Selbitschka added 10. Selbitschka, Gordon, and Lanoue all had a double-double for the Bulldogs.
The Rangers were led by Jessica Pappas who had 17 kills, and Jazmine Neal and Rachel Hedman who each added 11 kills. Ellie Adams led the Rangers with 31 assists, while Cayla Gutche led the Rangers with 17 digs.
