ANDREWS BIG NIGHT PROPELS NO. 5 BULLDOGS TO NSIC ROAD VICTORY

Winona, Minn. – The No. 5/6 Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs traveled to face off against the Winona State Warriors. The Bulldogs led for the majority of the game on their way to a 86-71 win on the road. With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 16-0 (9-0) on the season and are just 1 of 4 remaining undefeated teams in Division II.
 
The Warriors took an early 2-0 lead with 18:50 left in the first half. This was the only time the Warriors led all night as the Bulldogs quickly answered and took an early 8-2 lead. Despite the Warriors efforts to make a comeback in the game, the Bulldogs kept them out of range as they answered all of the Warriors runs. The Bulldogs led by as many as 14 points in the first half. After a layup from Austin Andrews with :03 seconds left, the Warriors answered with a three-pointer at the buzzer as the Bulldogs took a 42-33 halftime lead. The Bulldogs were hot on the offensive end as they shot 17-28 (60.7%) from the field and 3-8 (37.5%) from three-point range. Winona State shot 14-30 (46.7%) from the field and 3-13 (23.1%) from three-point range in the first half.
 
The Bulldogs began the second half buy building up their double-digit lead. The Bulldogs built up a 19-point lead with 15:36 left in the game following a Austin Andrews fast break dunk. The Bulldogs continued to dominate on the night as they led by at least 15-points the rest of the way. The Bulldogs stayed hot in the second half as they shot 19-32 (59.4%) from the field and shot 3-8 (37.5%) from three-point range in the second half. The Warriors shot 14-31 (45.2%) from the field and 6-11 (54.6%) from three-point range in the second half.
 
The Bulldogs were led by Austin Andrews who had 29 points on the night. Charlie Katona added 18 points on the night as well as Joshua Brown and Drew Blair added 13 and 12 points respectively. Andrews added 14 rebounds on the night as Joshua Brown added 10 rebounds of his own as both had double-doubles on the night. Brown also led the team with 4 assists on the night. Overall, the Bulldogs shot 36-60 (60%) on the night and 6-16 (37.5%) from three-point range. They also shot 8-11 from the foul line.
 
The Warriors were led by Luke Martens and Alec Rosner who had 11 and 10 points respectively. Carson Arenz led the team with 5 rebounds. Winona State shot 28-61 (45.9%) from the field and 9-24 (37.5%) from three-point range on the night. They also shot 6-10 from the foul line.
 
Who's Next:
The No. 5/6 Bulldogs will face their toughest challenge yet as they travel to No. 16 Upper Iowa tomorrow. Tip-off is at 3:30 PM. This will be the Bulldogs second Top-25 matchup of the season.
