Following a 4-1 win and 2-2 tie with the Miami RedHawks this past weekend, the Minnesota Duluth men's hockey team has kept their No. 7 ranking in the USCHO.com National Poll, the website released on Monday morning.
UMD took home a total of 681 rank points to hold onto the No. 7 spot for the second week in a row. During Friday night's win, former RedHawks
Casey Gilling tallied a goal and an assist to help the Bulldogs to a 4-1 victory. On Saturday evening,
Kobe Roth's goal in the final two minutes of regulation ensured a 2-2 tie in Duluth. Miami would take the extra NCHC point with a win in the shootout.
The Bulldogs are again joined in the poll by five other NCHC teams. No. 4 Western Michigan, No. 5 Denver, No. 6 St. Cloud, No. 9 North Dakota, and No. 16 Omaha all appeared in this week's poll. UMD will have at least one series with all five NCHC teams the rest of the regular season.
Minnesota Duluth will be back on the road next weekend. UMD will faceoff with the University of Nebraska-Omaha in a two-game series from Baxter Arena in Omaha. Puck drop is set for 7:07 PM on Friday evening and 6:07 PM on Saturday.
