UMD Bulldogs "ALLETE" Moments: Competition
Throughout this year, UMD Athletics is partnering with Minnesota Power, ALLETE to highlight the Bulldogs accomplishments in the 3 C's: Classroom, Competition, Community.Â
The University of Minnesota Duluth has three Bulldogs named to the CCA All-Super Region 4 Second Team, as announced on Thursday afternoon. The Bulldogs honored on the second team include tight end
Zach Ojile, offensive lineman
Brent Laing, and cornerback
Dayvia Gbor.Â
Two-time captain
Zach Ojile completed 25 receptions for  a total of 289 receiving yards, with his longest at 60 yards and five touchdown receptions. Ojile also rushed for 53 yards and completed three rushing touchdowns. Ojile also had two successful two-point conversions. Against MSU Moorhead Ojile posted 18 points off three touchdowns for UMD.Â
On the offensive line,
Brent Laing helped propel UMD's offense to a national ranking. Laing has allowed zero sacks on the season. UMD finished the season in the top 15 for rushing offense in the Nation and first in the NSIC. The Bulldog offense was also ranked first in the nation for time of possession. With Laing on the offensive line, UMD was top 10 in the nation for 3rd down percent and second in the NSIC.Â

Back on defense,
Dayvia Gbor notched 22 tackles and one sack for a loss of 10 yards. During the 2022 campaign Gbor made 11 pass breakups and seven interceptions. With seven interceptions, Gbor finished the season ranked third in the nation and first in the NSIC.Â
