UMD Bulldogs "ALLETE" Moments: Competition
Throughout this year, UMD Athletics is partnering with Minnesota Power, ALLETE to highlight the Bulldogs accomplishments in the 3 C's: Classroom, Competition, Community.
Duluth, Minn. -- CoSIDA released their 2021-22 Academic All-American men's basketball teams on Tuesday morning. Sophomore
Austin Andrews was named to the Division II Second Team Academic All-American.
Austin Andrews continues to add more accolades to his outstanding season as he was named to the Second Team Academic All-American. On top of his standout season on the court where he averaged 18.1 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.0 steals per game on 63.9% shooting. Andrews was named NSIC North Player of the Year, along with being named to First Team All-Region. Andrews helped lead the Bulldogs to one of their best seasons in program history as the Bulldogs started the season 16-0 and reached the No. 5 ranking in the NABC Poll. Along with his on the court success, Andrews has been just as great in the classroom as he currently holds a 3.89 GPA as he majors in Pre-Civil Engineering.
