Mankato, Minn. -- The Minnesota Duluth Baseball team capped off their three-game series with the Minnestoa State Mavericks on Stunday morning. The Mavericks went on to win the game 13-1 to sweep the Bulldogs.
The Mavericks got the scoring started in the first inning with a home run to left center field to give them a early lead. The Bulldogs tied up the game in the bottom of the second inning as
Alex Wattermann hit a sacrifice fly to center field that brought in
Tim Pokornowski. From there, it was all Mavericks as the Bulldogs could not get anything going on the offensive end. The Mavericks added a run in the thrid inning, followed by a 6-run 4th inning to break the game open as they took a 8-1 lead over the Bulldogs. The Mavericks added another 4 runs in the 6th inning, followed by another run in the 7th as the Mavericks went on to win the game 13-1 in 7 innings.
The Bulldogs will be back in action on Wednesday as they will face Sioux Falls in a double header.
