Despite a stronger second half and strong defense, the University of Minnesota Duluth soccer team fell to Northern Michigan this afternoon with a final score of 3-0. Two goals in the first half proved to be too much for the Bulldogs.
The Wildcats controlled the game early, forcing junior goalkeeper Jennifer Norris to make 6 saves in the first half. Northern Michigan's first goal came in the 12th minute, with their second coming only 12 minutes later. The Wildcats scored their final goal from 15 yards out at 52 minutes.

Freshman Myra Moorjani in her second appearance for the bulldogs, led the team in shots with 3. Seniors Hannah Caldwell and Erin Walpole had two apiece. The Bulldogs notched 10 total saves on the night, six were made in the first half.

The Bulldogs created good opportunities later in the game, recording 5 of their 8 shots in the second half. The Bulldogs also had two corner kick attempts that set the play up for Myra Moorjani to land two on target shots, pushing against the Northern Michigan defense.
The Bulldogs will continue their non-conference games on Friday, Sept 2 against St. Cloud State University. Kickoff is at 7:00pm CT.
