BULLDOGS UNABLE TO BREAK THROUGH AT SIOUX FALLS

For the second time this season, the University of Minnesota Duluth Soccer team will end in a tie. The Bulldogs with a score of zero to zero with the Cougars despite having a season high number of shots on goal. The Bulldogs defense remained strong, bouncing back from their three to one loss against Winona State. Jennifer Norris was back in net for the Bulldogs for the first time since August. 
 
Anna Tobias led the offense tonight with five shots on goal. Tobias led the charge from the first whistle with the first shot on goal. Junior forward Jackie Jares had the second only seconds behind Tobias. Jares put up four shots on goal.
 
This would continue to be the trend for the Bulldogs, putting up shot after shot. UMD out shot USF twelve to one in the first half. The Bulldogs also had seven corner kicks in the first half, creating multiple scoring chances for the UMD. The Bulldogs finished the night with 21 shots on goal and 11 corner kicks. Sioux falls only had six shots on goal and one corner kick
 
The second half started almost identical to the first, but it was senior forward Erin Walpole and freshman midfielder Myra Moorjani who started it off. UMD's Norris would see a little more action during this half. She went on to make five saves in the second half, giving her a total of six saves on the night. 
 
Senior defenseman Eliana Marciano had a season high three shots on goal, almost giving the Bulldogs lead. Senior midfielders Sarah Stange and Daisy Miller also finished the night with three shots on goal. 
 
The Bulldogs fall to 2-1-2 in conference play and return to the pitch tomorrow against Southwest Minnesota State in Marshall, MN at 1:00 pm.
