The University of Minnesota Duluth women's hockey team officially released its entire 2023-24 schedule Wednesday, and for the Bulldogs, who continually play one of the hardest schedules in the nation, next season will be no different.
UMD will enter its 25th season and ninth under head coach
Maura Crowell with two home series, including a non-conference tilt with Long Island University at AMSOIL Arena to open the year on Oct. 6-7, before returning to home ice the following weekend to host 2023 NCAA runner-up Ohio State University on Oct. 13-14. The Buckeyes series will kick-start the Bulldogs Western Collegiate Hockey Association schedule, and after two road series with Minnesota State University, Mankato and Bemidji State University, UMD will return for back-to-back home weekends against St. Thomas University on Nov. 3-4 and then the University of Minnesota on Nov. 17-18.Â
After hosting the Gophers, the Bulldogs will host another NCAA Tournament participant in Colgate University over Thanksgiving weekend on Nov. 24-25 before heading to the Madison, Wisconsin for a head-to-head with 2023 NCAA Champion, the University of Wisconsin, on Dec. 1-2.
UMD's first action of 2024 will take place in Hamden, Conn. against yet another NCAA Tournament participant in Quinnipiac University, and after three-straight road series, which includes OSU on Jan. 19-20 in Columbus, Ohio, the Bulldogs will open up 2024 at AMSOIL Arena against the Badgers on Jan. 26-27. The regular season will wrap for UMD on Feb. 23-24 against the Gophers in Minneapolis, Minn. at Ridder Arena.
In all, the Bulldogs will play 16Â of their 34 games against programs that made the 2023 NCAA Tournament. UMD, which made its third-straight NCAA Tournament in March, finished the 2022-23 season 26-10-3.
